Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need eSS?

Emails are not secured and can be intercepted and viewed by hackers. Confidential and sensitive information is not worth exposing through email. You need eSS to securely exchange messages and documents using the latest 256-bit encryption technology during transfer and storage. You can also use eSS to send very large files (100s of GBs) across the globe. Currently that feature is under 'Beta' version only. So, please contact us with your requirements, and we will set you up.

How do you keep my data safe?

eSS was designed from bottom up with your data security in mind. All your data is sent using latest encryption technology. We are using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) encryption protocols during data transmission. eSS leverages AES 256 Bit encryption and Elliptic Curve Cryptography technology to secure your data while it is stored in our servers. Your data is stored in servers residing in SSAE 16 accredited datacenters. This all means that your data is safe.

How do I know that the files I receive is virus-free?

All your documents will be scanned and viruses removed before they are delivered to your inbox. So you can be sure that any files delivered through eSS are free from viruses and other harmful agents.

What are Groups in eSS?

Groups are essentially the different companies or divisions you create within eSS. Naturally, the first Group you create should be the name of your company/business. You can then create multiple Groups to address your different needs. For example, you can create your primary company, "Data Security"" and then create "Data Security Sales" Group for all your internal communication between Sales, and then create "Data Security Clients" Group so you and your employees can communicate with your clients.

What is role-based access?

Each Group member can be assigned levels of access. As the Group owner you will have complete access to all the features of your Group. Members, however, will only have limited access to certain features. This way you can see the report of all your Group members in the "Audit Trail" while they will only see the message transactions that they are a part of.

How many types of Groups are in eSS and what are those?

There are two types of 'Groups' in eSS, 'Close Group' and 'Open Group'. 'Close Group' keeps you in control of who can message who. So when you create the "Data Security Clients" Group, only you, the admin, can see the other group members and send messages to individuals or to the entire group. Group members of the "Data Security Clients" Group will only be able to speak with you, the admin, and no one else. If you want everyone in a Group to communicate freely with each other, then 'Open Group' More than just admin privileges, the Group owner can set the Group to the 'Close Group' will allow every Group member to send to whomever they wish within that Group.

What is document expiration?

This feature allows you to limit access to messages and files. Every user has this ability and can set an expiration date on messages. So if the recipient does not accept the message/document within that specified date, it will be no longer available for the recipient. They would need to request the sender to send it again.
